Brief Review of Come, Lord Jesus

Do you long for the coming of Jesus? In Come, Lord Jesus John Piper helps believers to think rightly upon the second coming. Throughout the book, he argues that a love for Jesus will long for his coming. In Piper fashion, he covers a variety of passages and emphasizes how believers should look forward to Christ’s coming. This work is divided into 3 parts – 1) Reasons to Love Christ’s appearing, 2) The Time of His appearing, 3) How then shall we live?. This work closes with hymn – O Come, Lord Jesus, Come. Unlike other modern books on eschatology which focus heavily upon humanity, Piper’s focus is upon a love for Jesus and a longing for the coming King! Throughout this book, it should stir a believers love for Jesus, it addresses the errors of other eschatological views by the Scriptures, and calls believers to long for the return of Jesus because of their love for Him. Come, Lord Jesus, Come!
