Mark Boda is Professor of Old Testament at McMaster Divinity College and Professor in the Faculty of Theology at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.
Martin Luther begins the the 95 Theses by stating, “When our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, said “Repent”, He called for the entire life of believers to be one of repentance“.Luther is right. Repentance is not just a one time action, but a day after day occurrence. In Return to Me, Mark Boda shows readers a biblical theology of repentance. He goes through the Torah, Prophets, Writings, and NT writings. Boda discusses Repentance book by book and genre by genre. This is a clear, overarching biblical theology on the theme of Repentance and it covers a great overview.
Why is this book important for the Church?
The Church needs to know repentance! We need to understand it individually but also corporately. This work shows repentance throughout the storyline of scripture, and will help the believer understand what repentance is.
Friends, you only get one life and it will soon pass. Only what is done for King Jesus will last!
